Mohammed ‘Nice Boy’ Kah
On the bustling streets of Banjul, Gambia’s capital, we met Mohammed.
After an accident on a construction site that took his leg, he can no longer ply his trade, so he now asks passers-by for small change.
We had a chat and he told us of his talents as a riti player, so in exchange for rice and onions, he delightedly performed a number of traditional Fula songs on a nearby beach.
His performance was very moving, and afterwards he even taught us a few techniques.
